Pit Stall Slections? Empty

today's race.

Mark "Guru" Garrow
I think the drivers with the best pit stalls this afternoon at Indy are Ryan Newman, Kurt Busch, Denny Hamlin, Carl Edwards, TonyStewart, Jimmie Johnson, Marcos Ambrose, Juan Pablo Montoya, Kevin Harvick, Greg Biffle, Martin Truex, Jr., and A.J. Allmendinger.

Mark "Guru" Garrow
Pit Road Segment Four...Biffle gets a bit of a break though with the potential start and park of Josh Wise behind him in pit 31 andwhat's a little weird is that another potential S&P, Joe Nemechek, is in stall 32, with 36th place qualifier David Ragan next inpit 33 and 33rd place qualifier Danica Patrick in stall 34. She's followed by 37th place qualifier David Stremme in pit 35 then it's34th place qualifier Bobby Labonte in pit 36. After qualifying a shockingly poor 38th, Martin Truex, Jr. is in stall 37 followed bythe potential start and park of Michael McDowell in stall 38. In pit 39 is J.J. Yeley, starting 39th, and behind him in stall 40 ishis Tommy Baldwin teammate Dave Blaney after he qualified 41st. David Gilliland, the 42nd starter is in pit 41 with last place starterTimmy Hill in stall 42 and in stall 43 after qualifying 14th is A.J. Allmendinger.

Mark "Guru" Garrow
Pit Road Segment Three...In stall 21 after he qualified 21st is Aric Almirola with Mark Martin in pit 22 after he qualified 26th. Thenit's the 30th place qualifier Casey Mears in stall 23 with Kyle Busch in stall 24 after he qualified 19th. Just in front of the thirdand final pit road opening, in pit 25, is Marcos Ambrose after he qualified tenth. On the other side of the opening, in pit 26, isthe eighth place qualifier Juan Pablo Montoya. In pit 27, after qualifying 29th, is Landon Cassill with Kevin Harvick in stall 28after he was 24th fast in time trials. In pit 29 after qualifying 31st is David Reutimann with Greg Biffle in pit 30 after he qualifieda surprisingly bad 27th.

Mark "Guru" Garrow
Pit Road Segment Two...Behind him in pit 11 is the 16th place qualifier Jeff Burton with 12th place qualifier Brad Keselowski in pit12. They are superstitious here so in pit 12A is Paul Menard after he qualified 23rd with 15th place qualifier Dale Earnhardt, Jr. behind him in pit 14. After 25th Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. is in pit 15 with fifth place qualifier Tony Stewart in stall 16. Behind him isthe second pit road opening, which is split by the start-finish line. On the other side of that opening is outside pole sitter Jimmie Johnson in stall 17. In back of him in pit 18 after qualifying 20th is Austin Dillon with Clint Bowyer, after qualifying 17th,in pit 19 and in stall 20 is Trevor Bayne after he qualified 28th.

Mark "Guru" Garrow
Pit Road Segment One...Pole sitter Ryan Newman to no one's surprise to the first pit and with how narrow this place is along pitlane that is HUGE advantage. Sixth place qualifier Kurt Busch took the second stall and right behind him the man who qualified seventh,Kasey Kahne, has chosen the third pit with 11th place qualifier Joey Logano in stall four and 13th place qualifier, Matt Kenseth, inthe fifth pit. That clearly could be a traffic jam and shows you just how much these guys don't want to dodge other cars by pittingfarther down pit road. In pit six is 18th place qualifier Jamie McMurray, with ninth place qualifier Jeff Gordon in stall seven. TravisKvapil had a decent qualifying efforts, 22nd, and he's in the eighth pit with fourth place starter Denny Hamlin in pit nine and hasthe first pit road opening to his back. On the other side using the tenth stall is third place qualifier Carl Edwards.

Mark "Guru" Garrow
The pit stalls at Indy are pretty good sized with three openings between pits 9-10, 16-17 and 25-26. Much like it is at Martinsville, however, it is a very narrow pit lane with a wall separating it from the front stretch, which means it's easy for drivers to get hitor cut off after they make their stops and try to make their way back on to the track. You'll see how the crew chiefs feel about thatwhen we give our pit road analysis because of how many good cars are pitting in the front half of these pits.
