NATIONSIDE 2013 - SIGN UP NOW!

I'll be sponsoring the Nationwide Sidegame again this year. Pretty much the same as last year - I'll put together the Official Rules in the coming week for all the new folks to get familiar with.

This is a fun little Sidegame for those who follow the Nationwide Division. Very cheap to enter and 100% of the entry fees are returned back to the players in the form of cash prizes. Everybody is welcome to play - we'd really like to see a few new faces in the game.

(I've been thinking about starting it at Race 2 to bypass the Daytona Effect most players don't seem to appreciate on the chances of winning Segment I).

Any input on that from last years players is appreciated.

For the benefit of those not familiar with the game, here's a copy of the rules as they were written last year. I'll update the schedule, restricted drivers list, etc as necessary before we get going.

So please consider this a DRAFT at this time.........

THE RULES

FORMAT
Pick 5 Drop 1. Pick 5 Drivers Each Week. You're worst finisher is dropped.


CONTEST DURATION
The NW 2013 Schedule will be divided into 4 or 5 'segments'. You may play one segment or all segments. Payment of entry fees will be accepted one segment at a time, prior to the start of that segment. I do not wish any segment to end on a restrictor plate track, and will divide the segments accordingly.

2013 Segment 1 will run Daytona thru and including Richmond, 7 races.


RESTRICTED DRIVER PICKING
Each race you'll pick 5 drivers. NO MORE THAN 2 of your picks may be from the RESTRICTED DRIVER LIST. Drivers on the restricted list are generally (but not necessarily) considered 'Cup Ringers'. Remaining picks are unrestricted and may be any other competitor in the race not on the restricted list. This creates diversity in our rosters.


RESTICTED DRIVER LIST - will remain constant throughout each segment.
Harv, Kyle, Edw, Haml, Logano, Keso, Kahne, Kens, Biff, JR.
THIS LIST WILL BE UPDATED TO REFLECT THE 2013 SEASON BEFORE PICKING DRIVERS AT DAYTONA


SPECIAL PICK RULES FOR STAND-ALONE NW RACES - Stand Alone Races are those where NW runs at a track without CUP being there, Iowa, Road America, etc. In Stand Alone Races NO RESTRICTED DRIVERS ARE ALLOWED. All picks must be 'unrestricted drivers'. I will remind us of this as we approach Stand Alone weekends. There are NO Stand Alone races in Segment 1.


DEADLINE
Green Flag. Your picks must be posted here (I'll do a 'Post Picks Here' post each week a few days before the race) or to me by e-mail TIME STAMPED PRIOR TO THE GREEN FLAG or on my phone voice mail or text TIME STAMPED AS WELL.

SCORING
Not complicated NASCAR scoring. Drivers are point-scored based on their finishing position. Lower score is better. Only your top 4 finishing drivers count. Worst driver each weekend is dropped.
Any driver picked that does not race, for whatever reason, gets a score of 44.
Example:
Your drivers finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 10th and 40th.
40th Place driver is dropped.
Your score for the weekend is 1+2+3+10 = 16.
Lowest total score at the end of the segment wins.
Results posted here after each race; usually takes me about 15 to 30 minutes.


MERCY RULE
To protect season ending wreckage in the event someone forgets to enter a team on any given weekend, or has most of their drivers wrecked out, we play the Mercy Rule. This is in lieu of 'dropped races'. There are no dropped races. The MERCY RULE PUTS A MAXIMUM OF 60 POINTS POSSIBLE IN ANY GIVEN RACE. If you totally fock the thing up, the worst score we'll give you is 60 points.

PRIZES
100 PERCENT RETURNED TO THE PLAYERS.
1st Place - 75%
2nd Place - 25%

TIEBREAKER
Best Single Race Score of the Segment, followed by 2nd best single race score, etc., until tie is broken.

REFUNDS
Once the Segment starts their ain't no mofo refunds. If your team is doing poorly after 3 races, no, you don't get your money back. Not goin through that again. lol. Inside joke.


Any necessary calls during the season are made by me with fairness as a goal.

The plate races took me from hero to zero in one lap more than once but we should have to sufer same as the drivers,just my opinion

Sounds good, guys. I've heard from a few people and the verdict is in. Game starts with Daytona. That's why we play these silly little racing games; pain and frustration. lol.

I would love to play, but due to my travels and work schedule, it's all i can do to get my Cup teams in on Sunday's!!
