This is Race 2 in a 5-Race 'BEAT 4TARS' contest.

It is played in the traditional Pick 5 Drop 1 Format.

Only the payout method is different in this BEAT 4TARS contest.

CHICAGO IS A STAND-ALONE RACE. NO RESTRICTED DRIVERS MAY BE PICKED.

Any other drivers, even other Cup Drivers, not specifically listed here are UNRESTRICTED.

Jayski has the Green Flag scheduled for 3:16 ET SUNDAY. Always check this yourself, never trust Woods.

4tars' picks aren't absolutely due till the drop of the green flag, but 4tars, being the outstanding human being he is has agreed in general to try to get his picks in shortly after qualifying is completed for each race. To avoid a dead match (picking the same 5 drivers he picks) you may wish to see his picks before you post yours. Or post in advance and re-post new picks after you see his. NEVER EDIT YOUR PICKS. RE-POST NEW ONES IF YOU WISH TO CHANGE.

The Mercy Rule we play in the standard NW Game will not be applied in this Beat 4tar style contest. Each playee will have his four keeper drivers fully scored even if the total exceeds 50 .points.

4tars emailed me a question about ties and it's a good question so I'm telling everyone here how I answered it.

4tars, unlike the rest of us can only win money by finishing 1st on any given week. He can't 'split' pots like all other players - he has to win the whole pot or nothing.

If anyone ties 4tars (whether they pick the exact team or just happen to tie in points even with a different team) they get their ante back, it is pulled from the pot, and the total in the pot is reduced by $10. Example: There are 12 players - the pot has therefore $120 in it. If two players tie 4tars the pot now only has $100 left to be split by the winners.

4tars asked how much he wins if he finishes tied for 1st with two other players. He doesn't win $120. He wins $100.

Per the rules a tie is "No Blood Lost". Nobody wins or loses on it. So,,,,,,,,,,,,,,if you ever feel you can't beat his team, yes, you can simply match it - and you get your $10 back for that week. But as 4tars noted, that would be 'chicken-shit'.

Good luck today everyone. I don't have TV reception where I'm at but I can follow the race on the computer and I'll score it up immediately afterwards.

I know it is unlikely but just to clarify this tie issue with 4 tars:

Ten players playing so $100.00 in pot at Green.

2 players score a 10 and are winners
5 players and 4tars all tie at 11.
2 players score 17 and have a losing score.

So is the pot now $50.00 because the 5 players that tied 4tars all get their ante back?

If correct that means the winners receive $25.00 each, and the remaining players get their entry fee of $10.00 back.

Just asking for clarification purposes.
